Muckle Cottage stands in the grounds of The Mount and provides the ideal get away from it all retreat. The cottage enjoys the tranquil location of Portinscale and the Newlands Valley with all it's breathtaking beauty, whilst commanding a high standard of self catering accommodation. It is only a short leisurely walk to Lake Derwentwater and for the more energetic, Grizedale Pike can be walked from your front door. Keswick is also within walking distance and the shops, local pubs and restaurants can be enjoyed the year round.

Muckle Cottage has just undergone a complete refurbishment!

The accommodation now consists of an entrance porch, two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a lounge dining room, fully equipped , brand new kitchen with dishwasher and washer-dryer. A new microwave, electric cooker, hob and hood complete the look.

The 'house bathroom' has now been replaced with 2 new en-suite bathrooms, one with with toilet, wash basin, and shower leading from the twin bedroom, and the other with bath/ shower, basin and toilet- both en suites are fully tiled and underfloor heating is installed as an added touch.

The electric storage heaters have been replaced with a gas central heating, and a new log burning stove in the lounge will ensure that the cottage is cosy all year round.

One further addition is a new 32" widescreen LCD television with built in Freeview and DVD player with a selection of DVDs.

Finally, all linen and bedding is supplied - now including towels. Fuel is also included (plus a starter basket of logs to get your log burner going!)

There is off road parking available for two vehicles.

There is a portable barbecue and garden furniture available for loan during your stay.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost.

Muckle Cottage is totally non smoking.

Tariff:
Rates are based on weekly occupancy and depending on the season. Prices start at £380.00 per week in low season through to £600.00 per week in high season (and £650 for Christmas/ New Year weeks)

Unfortunately short breaks are not available at Muckle Cottage.

Please Note: If a cancellation to stay at Muckle Cottage is made 14 days or more before your arrival there will be no charge, however, if a cancellation is made in this 14 day period we reserve the right to make a full charge subject to any re-letting.
